How High Shear Mixing Can Help Improve Emulsions

An emulsion is a mixture of two or more immiscible liquids –one being oil-based and the other water-based, or “aqueous.” They are described as “immiscible” liquids because they cannot easily be mixed together without separating and this can often cause problems during manufacture if it is not done correctly.

Creating a stable emulsion can be a challenging task, even with the use of emulsifiers, but it is a critical stage in the production of many products. The consistency, quality, texture, shelf life and appearance of products is very much dependent on the stability of the emulsion.

Sanitary Static Mixers Help the Food and Biotech Industry

Sanitary static mixers are sanitary devices that are used to mix various liquids or gases together. They are often used in food and beverage processing, as well as in pharmaceutical and biotech applications. These mixers are designed to meet the stringent cleanliness requirements of these industries and are typically made from stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials. Static mixers typically consist of a series of stationary mixing elements, such as baffles or blades, that create turbulence and promote mixing. The number and configuration of the mixing elements can vary depending on the application.

New Blender PB for Viscous Products

INOXPA introduces the new PB blender for viscous products. This new range expands our family of blenders, meeting mixing needs for high viscosity products up to 15000 cP, such as pectin, CMC and guar gum.
The new blender is used to add solids such as sugar or thickeners into a viscous liquid, such as a fruit concentrate. However, it can also be used to blend solids into a low viscosity liquid, when adding the solids leads to a higher viscosity than a conventional blender with a centrifugal pump can handle.In contrast to other blender models, the PB comes with a progressive cavity pump after the mixer, which is ideal for mixing highly viscous products and difficult mixtures that a traditional blender cannot handle.
